|

insure your professional success. Since 1998 we've been offering
some of the best professional level courses in the world. The
Instruc tor Development Course and the Instructor Examination
immediately following teaches you how to teach people how to scuba
dive. Once qualified, you'll be able to teach up to the divemaster
level!

| After completing all aspects of the IDC, you
are qualified to participate in the PADI Instructor Examination. This
two-day program, directly following the IDC, will evaluate you in the
areas as outlined below. |
If successful in the IE, you will become
certified as an Open Water Scuba Instructor.
If you are unsuccessful, you can
retake the IE after a waiting period of at least ten-days.
IDC Prerequisites: you must:
-
Have been certified (entry level)
for at least 12 months, with 100 dives logged.

Be certified as a PADI
Divemaster,
Assistant Instructor or an instructor from another organization.
-
Have proof of CPR/First aid
training within the last 24 months.
-
Have proof of a Medical
examination within the last 12 months.
-
Bring all certification cards and
logbooks.

Diving.

Here you will find an overview of the required
passing scores for the IE:

Diving Theory--closed-book
examinations with passing scores of 75% or higher on the following subjects: -Physics
-Physiology
-Equipment
-General Skills and Environment
-Recreational Dive Planner
-Retest... only one allowed; two or more subjects failed or a failure on the retest
results in non certification
-
PADI Systems, Standards and
Procedures--open-book exam; passing score 75% or higher, no retest allowed.
Skill Assessments

Watermanship: 732.5 Meter/800-yard
snorkel swim
-
Open Water Rescue Examination:
Response, recovery, resuscitation, transport and equipment removal of a diver simulating
unconsciousness.

General Diving Skills Evaluation:
An evaluation of general diving skills made by the staff during all confined and open
water sessions.
-
Skill Evaluation Circuit:
Candidates perform a circuit consisting of three skills from the PADI Open Water Course.
Passing score is 3.0 or higher on each skill.
Teaching
Ability:
Candidates
evaluated on sample teaching presentation. Specific assignments are made during the
program; candidates should arrive prepared to teach any portion of the PADI Open Water
Diver Course. Passing score is 3.5 or higher (on a scale of 1.0 to 5.0). One retest
allowed:

Attitude and
Professionalism:
An assessment of the candidate's attitude and professionalism is
made by the staff.
