About Us

Atlantis Liveaboards is Phuket's most progressive Dive Company. It's owners have many years experience in the diving business. All of our owners are dedicated to maintaining the very highest standards of service and safety during your stay with us. Atlantis Liveaboards have started the work to become ISO 9001 certified, this means for you as a customer and gust onboard our boats will get the highest degree of service. On all boats are we having a Boat manual this manuals are a result of many years experience and merged together with a operational manual for big cruise liners.

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9000 is a series of standards developed by an international group of manufacturing and quality assurance experts. These standards, when implemented, ensure that a company is following procedures that support quality in product design, development, manufacturing, and/or servicing. ISO 9001 is the most demanding of the series, covering all four areas.

The standard requires companies to formalize their processes to ensure consistent performance and encourage continuous improvement. Rather than dictating how to conduct a business, ISO 9001 outlines 20 elements that guide companies in developing their own quality procedures. For example, one of the elements requires that a company develop and document a method for contract review. B.K Boats formalized contract review process ensures that our product and delivery requirements are clearly defined and approved by all parties at the outset of a project -- the first step towards customer satisfaction.

The Decision to Seek Certification

ISO 9001 certification requires significant corporate investment of both time and money. Consequently, organizational leaders must carefully weigh the costs and benefits before committing their employees to the certification process. The decision to seek certification for B.K Boats was made three years ago by the upper management team of Bert Boye, Managing Director; Keith Holmqvist, COO; Anirudh Bajaj CEO, Managing director. As Bert Boye explained it, "To grow a high tech dive company like B.K Boats, product quality must first be specified in relation to customer needs. Then, the company must consistently meet that level of quality. ISO 9001 provides us with the tools we need to accomplish just that." The challenge of attaining certification necessitated stepping back and examining existing procedures B.K Boats had established for delivering quality products and services. We identified activities that met our new goals and those that needed improvement. There were some areas, too, in which we needed to define completely new ways of doing business. ISO 9001 certification gave B.K Boats the opportunity to rethink many of our everyday business practices, with input from customers and every B.K Boats employee.

ISO requires companies to thoroughly document their procedures by drafting a "quality policy manual," element-specific "procedures," and "work instructions." The quality policy manual describes the company's definition of quality and its commitment to each of the quality elements. Each quality element may be supported by one or more high-level procedures. Job functions are defined in work instructions. B.K Boats’s ISO documentation now includes a quality policy manual, operating procedures, and over 250 work instructions.
